On December 24-26, 2021, the Voice Ai Challenge Uzbekistan hackathon will be held at Inha University in Tashkent, organized by the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, IT Park, UNDP in Uzbekistan, together with Inha University in Tashkent, the Development Research Institute digital technologies and artificial intelligence, as well as KASH APP. 

The hackathon is dedicated to the creation of a digital solution (application, bot, program, etc.) based on voice data in the Uzbek language, which will be collected through the project "Digitalization of the Uzbek language using Mozilla Common Voice". 

Hackathon participants will have the opportunity to start implementing their project and work on the minimum viable product (MVP). In addition, within the framework of the hackathon, participants will be accompanied and assisted by experts in the field of information technology. Participants will be able to find like-minded people and unleash their potential in the field of startups. 

At the end of the hackathon, participants will receive valuable prizes from the organizers in the form of laptops, tablets and smartphones.

24-26 декабря 2021 года в университете Inha в Ташкенте состоится хакатон «Voice Ai Challenge Uzbekistan», организованный Министерством по развитию информационных технологий и коммуникаций Республики Узбекистан, IT Park, ПРООН в Узбекистане, совместно с университетом Inha в Ташкенте, Научно-исследовательским институтом развития цифровых технологий и искусственного интеллекта, а также KASH АPP. 

Хакатон посвящен созданию цифрового решения (приложение, бот, программа и др.) на основе голосовых данных на узбекском языке, которые будут собраны благодаря проекту «Оцифровка узбекского языка с помощью Mozilla Common Voice». 

Участники хакатона получат возможность начать реализовывать свой проект и прорабатывать минимальный жизнеспособный продукт (MVP). Кроме того, в рамках хакатона участников будут сопровождать и помогать эксперты в сфере информационных технологий. Участники смогут найти себе единомышленников и раскрыть свой потенциал в сфере стартапов. 

По окончанию хакатона участники получат ценные призы от организаторов в виде ноутбуков, планшетов и смартфонов.

At the opening of the event, Oleg Pekos, First Deputy Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications, Muzafar Mukhitdinovich Jalalov, Rector of the INHA University, and Radjabov Jahangir Ikhtiyarovich, IT Park Deputy Director for Innovative Development, delivered a speech. 

Next, representatives of IT Park and UNDP awarded the winners of the Mozilla Common Voice contest, which was held in two directions "Speakers" and "Listeners". 

Mozilla Common Voice is a project to collect Uzbek voice data and create an open database. The goal of the project is to make voice recognition technology accessible to everyone. 

The winners of the competition in the direction of "Speakers" are:

The main speakers of the hackathon were the head of the accelerator of the UNDP laboratory in Uzbekistan Adkham Kuchkarov, the director of the Research Institute for the Development of Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence Aziz Atabekov, as well as the project manager of KASH APP and the community manager of Uzbekvoice.ai Abbosjon Kudratov. 

The main members of the jury were the chief specialist of the UZINFOCOM artificial intelligence department Rustamkhuja Alavutdinov, the founder and head of the Kash App company Bakhtiyor Khasanov, the technical head of the ModMe.uz educational online platform Ruslan Yuldashev and the general director of TTS Uzbekistan Erkin Isoev, as well as the head of the technology development department of artificial intelligence at the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan Parviz Nasrullaev. 

During the event, various sessions were held, voice data in Uzbek was provided and comprehensive assistance was provided by the mentors of the event to the participants of the hackathon. More than 300 participants registered in the hackathon, which formed 39 teams, and 28 teams reached the final.

С 24 по 26 декабря текущего года в университете INHA в Ташкенте прошёл хакатон «Voice Ai Challenge Uzbekistan», организованный Министерством по развитию информационных технологий и коммуникаций Республики Узбекистан, IT Park, ПРООН в Узбекистане, при поддержке университета INHA в Ташкенте, Научно-исследовательского института развития цифровых технологий и искусственного интеллекта, а также KASH АPP и TTS.UZ. 

На открытии мероприятия выступили с речью первый заместитель министра по развитию информационных технологий и коммуникаций Пекось Олег Андреевич, ректор университета INHA Джалалов Музафар Мухитдинович, а также заместитель директора IT Park по инновационному развитию Раджабов Джахангир Ихтиярович. 

Следом, представители IT Park и ПРООН наградили победителей конкурса Mozilla Common Voice, который проводился по двум направлениям «Speakers» и «Listeners». 

Mozilla Common Voice — это проект по сбору голосовых данных на узбекском языке и созданию открытой базы данных. Цель проекта - сделать технологию распознавания голоса доступной для всех. 

Победителями конкурса по направлению «Speakers» стали: 

- Шохсанам Джураева – г.Ташкент; 

- Акбарбек Саъдуллаев – г.Ташкент; 

- Улугбек Очилбоев – Самаркандская область;

Главными спикерами хакатона стали руководитель акселератора лаборатории ПРООН в Узбекистане Адхам Кучкаров, директор Научно-исследовательского института развития цифровых технологий и искусственного интеллекта Азиз Атабеков, а также проект-менеджер компании KASH АPP и комьюнити-менеджер Uzbekvoice.ai Аббосжон Кудратов. 

Основными членами жюри стали главный специалист департамента искусственного интеллекта UZINFOCOM Рустамхужа Алавутдинов, основатель и руководитель компании «Kash App» Бахтиер Хасанов, технический руководитель образовательной онлайн-платформы ModMe.uz Руслан Юлдашев и генеральный директор TTS Uzbekistan Эркин Исоев, а также начальник отдела по развитию технологий искусственного интеллекта в Министерстве по развитию информационных технологий и коммуникаций Республики Узбекистан Парвиз Насруллаев. 

В ходе мероприятия были проведены различные сессии, предоставлены голосовые данные на узбекском языке и оказана всесторонняя помощь менторами мероприятия участникам хакатона. В хакатоне было зарегистрировано более 300 участников, которые сформировали 39 команд, а до финала дошли 28 команд.

Voice Ai Challenge Uzbekistan hakatoni g'oliblari!

Mozilla Common Voice is an open-source initiative to make voice technology more inclusive. Contributors donate speech data to a public dataset, which anyone can then use to train voice-enabled technology. Voice technology is no longer just the remit of smart speakers - access to banking, government services and health tech are all increasingly voice operated. If we want to make sure nobody is left behind, projects like Common Voice are essential. 

Common Voice 8 is the most diverse multilingual open speech corpus in the world. This is largest release yet, thanks to a growing, committed community, and multi-sector resourcing from partners such as Gates, NVIDIA, and GIZ. It is now 18,000 hours, and 13 million voice clips - generated entirely by 200,000+ volunteer contributors around the world. 

New languages in Common Voice 8 include Igbo, Marathi, Danish, Norwegian Nynorsk, Central Kurdish, Malayalam, Swahili, Erzya, Moksha, Macedonian and Santali (Ol Chiki). 

Our communities of contributors around the world have collaborated, inspired and supported people in our crowdsourcing efforts to make this dataset possible. Each member provides a unique and lived perspective of their language's experiences and cultural context. 

As part of this dataset release we would like to highlight the contributions of; the Common Voice Language Reps, Chris Chinenye Emezue, Joan Montané and Nart for exceptional sentence collection efforts via the CC0 process, Bülent Özden for community building for Turkish Community and Stefania Deleprete for their Common Voice Advocacy efforts. We would also like to congratulate the Uzbek, Luganda, Serbian, Hausa, Belarusian and Abkhaz communities for their amazing growth. 

Partners like NVIDIA make use of the data to fuel exciting open source innovation projects. Research Scientist Vitaly Lavrukhin says “the latest release of Mozilla Common Voice is a great thing for the research communities. The data continues to be a core component of NVIDIA’s open source NeMo Automatic Speech Recognition models and we congratulate the team on significant growth to the dataset. NVIDIA will also release data preprocessing scripts in NeMo to facilitate reproducibility of research.” 

The collaborative support of Gates Foundation’s, GIZ and FCDO in growing digital innovation to address inequality in East Africa through voice innovation is also bearing fruit, as Swahili has hit 500 hours in a matter of months. This is thanks to the work of amazing community fellows Britone Mwasaru (Kenya) and Rebecca Ryakitimbo (DRC/Tanzania) and machine learning fellow Kathleen Siminyu (Kenya).

The State Emergency Service has created the MineFree mobile application, which allows Ukrainians to be vigilant and stay as far away as possible from the mines left by the "Russian world".

The press service of the DSNS informs about this in a telegram.

Thanks to the application, everyone who installs it will be able to:
view a map showing potentially dangerous territories, according to the State Emergency Service;
receive a notification in case of approaching a dangerous object;
get acquainted with the directory of the State Emergency Service, which contains a photo and description of explosive objects;
report the discovery of explosive or suspicious objects.
For registered users, a special electronic form has been developed in the application, which contains a photo, geolocation and description. This information is immediately sent to rescuers, which ensures prompt response of the State Emergency Service and further neutralization of such items.

Государственная служба по чрезвычайным ситуациям создала мобильное приложение MineFree, которое позволяет украинцам быть бдительными и держаться как можно дальше от мин, оставленных "русским миром".

Об этом информирует в телеграмме пресс-служба ДСНС.

Благодаря приложению, каждый, кто установит его, будет иметь возможность:
посмотреть карту, на которой обозначены потенциально опасные территории, согласно данным ГСЧС;
получить уведомление в случае приближения к опасному объекту;
ознакомиться со справочником ГСЧС, в котором есть фото и описание взрывоопасных предметов;
сообщить об обнаружении взрывоопасных или подозрительных предметов.
Для зарегистрированных пользователей в приложении разработана специальная электронная форма, которая содержит фото, геолокацию и описание. Эта информация сразу поступает к спасателям, что обеспечивает оперативное реагирование ГСЧС и дальнейшее обезвреживание таких предметов.

Ro'yxatdan o'tgan foydalanuvchilar uchun ilovada fotosurat, geolokatsiya va tavsifni o'z ichiga olgan maxsus elektron shakl ishlab chiqilgan. Ushbu ma'lumot zudlik bilan qutqaruvchilarga yuboriladi, bu FVV tezkor harakatini va bunday narsalarni zararsizlantirishni ta'minlaydi.

21-oktabr 12:00 dan 13-noyabr soat 00:60 gacha 1800 dan ortiq ovozli soatlar sun’iy intellekt bo‘yicha treningga ajratildi. Bu esa 1 620 000 ta gap degani! 💪 

Bu bilan biz muhim natijaga – ovozli ma'lumotlarni yig'ishni yakunlashga erishdildik. Endi biz ushbu ma'lumotlar bilan ishlaymiz va turli mahsulotlarni yaratamiz. Eslatib o'tamiz, barcha ma'lumotlar hamma uchun ochiq. 😉

From October 21, 12:00 to November 13, 00:60, more than 1,800 voice hours were allocated to artificial intelligence training. This means 1,620,000 sentences! 💪

Из 8000+ заявок, поданных на участие в лагере, было отобрано 150 участников из разных регионов нашей республики. 

С 12:00 21 октября по 00:60 13 ноября на обучение искусственного интеллекта было записано более 1800 голосовых часов. Это означает 1 620 000 предложений! 💪 

Этим мы добились важного результата — завершение сбора голосовых данных. Теперь мы работаем с этой информацией и создаем разные продукты. Напоминаем, что вся информация открыта для всех. 😉 

В течение недели с 7 по 13 ноября участники разделились на группы и прослушали лекции Нажота Нура и Бахтиёра Хасанова. 

Также к открытию новых знаний и талантов способствуют такие программы, как «Заковать», «Викторина», интеллектуальные и спортивные игры, встречи со спикерами, концерты, организованные в рамках культурно-зрелищных мероприятий, «Открытый микрофон».
